Hernandez ruled out for a month with ankle injury no comments
Javier Hernandez will be out of action for three – four weeks following an injury he picked up during Manchester United’s 1 – 0 win over Aston Villa earlier this month.
The Mexican was one of three players that had to leave the pitch during the game, with two members of the Villa squad also finding themselves injured.
It is thought that the forward has torn ligaments in his ankle and will be required to use an ankle support for a few weeks, after getting his foot caught in the turf at Villa Park early on in the match.
Hernandez’s injury leaves the United team severely depleted. With Hernandez joining other forwards Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov in being off the pitch, the team looks short up front and midfielders Anderson and Tom Cleverley are also still unable to play.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson told the BBC: “We’re having a bad time with injuries at the moment – it’s just as well we’ve a strong squad.”
